Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!
Rise and shine, people! There are theme parks calling my name! Nobody sleeps in when there is a rope drop in my future.
One of the things that I forgot to mention at the end of my last post is that we stopped at a grocery store on the way back to the hotel to pick up milk and fruit. We brought cereal and muffins from home. All of that combined to be breakfast for most of our mornings. This was one of those mornings.
Daniel and Duffy eating breakfast in bed.
It works well for us to rotate through the shower and eat. Nobody is just sitting there ready to go while everyone else is still doing something. We've got it down to a science these days.
Eventually, through the bathroom rotation, Mac was located.
Once everyone was clean and fed, we loaded up and headed to our WDW hotel. Remember how I said the Radisson we stayed in was right at the back entrance to Downtown Disney? This was the view from our parking lot:
That's how close we were.
We followed the signs once we were on Disney property to Port Orleans Riverside.
We showed our Magic Bands for the first time at the guard station, which meant we didn't have to pull out photo ID or anything else, and were sent through to the lobby parking area.
Ooooh, pretty!
Brad went up to the online check in desk (there was no line) and the kids and I wandered around the lobby.
Okay, I wandered around the lobby while the kids sat and watched cartoons.
I liked the Christmas décor.
I think what I liked the best was how they mixed magnolia blossoms in with everything else. While they aren't Chrismassy per se, it really worked with the whole theme.
Brad came back with our backup room key cards (which would come in handy later) and, to my surprise, told me they already had a room ready for us. Okie dokie, then let's go find it!
We were in the Acadian House building on the second floor. Very near one of the smaller pools and the North bus stop.
Mickey ear shampoo! Squeee!
We hauled in our luggage and then walked out to the bus stop for the first time. We caught a MK bus within a few minutes and I was walking through the bag check line as the Opening Ceremony was ending. Not quite rope drop, but close enough.
We stopped for the obligatory family castle picture...
... and then moved on to Fantasyland. Now that I have my Photopass disc, I'm ready to get going on this!
